I don't understand all of the information talked about in the scan tool threads so I'm not sure if that scan tool will do what I'm looking for or which version to get. I think I've narrowed it down to one of the Autel MD802 variations that I've seen on Amazon. If it's more complicated then Dr A is a short drive away. If I'm bringing it to my local mechanic I'd like to be able to say change this part. If I had more accurate information I could then decide who to bring it to. Dr A is about 2 hours from me and I've got a local mechanic that I trust far more then any dealership. I could then decide if I want to fix it or have it fixed. ![]() I've read a lot of threads here and from what I've gathered a better scan tool will provide me with more accurate codes. My understanding is that the scanguage II isn't accurate for trying to run down problems that have generated a code. ![]() However, due to finances I do perform maintenance and small repairs myself. I'm not a mechanic and have no desire to start. ![]()
